NATIONAL VFW-PAC ENDORSES CONGRESSMAN MOORE’S RE-ELECTION
(LENEXA, KS) – The Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee has officially announced their endorsement of Congressman Moore in his re-election bid.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces,” Moore said. “America must honor their sacrifice and courage by living up to its promises to service personnel and veterans. I won’t stop working until all veterans have the benefits they deserve.”
The endorsement recognizes Moore’s service to veterans, record on national security and defense issues, and his work to improve military readiness. The VFW-PAC reviewed Moore’s voting record and solicited comments from the VFW leadership in Kansas. Moore received the VFW-PAC endorsement in 2004, as well.
“I’ve known Congressman Moore for many years. He doesn’t just sit around and wait for election time, he’s involved and participating year-round,” said Richard Kohler, Commander of VFW Post 7026 in Kansas City, Kansas. “Dennis does a great job – that’s all.”
Moore led the successful effort to direct the Department of Defense to pay all travel costs for our troops coming home for Rest and Recuperation (R&R) from Iraq and Afghanistan. He has worked to ensure that veterans have access to the quality of health care they deserve, end the tax on disabled veterans, increase benefits paid to military widows, and prevent increases in TRICARE premiums for military retirees. Moore was also successful in increasing the military death gratuity from $12,000 to $100,000, which is applied retroactively to all servicemen and women on active duty who have died since September 11, 2001.
