It is with sadness that I write today.

Warner Moore, Congressman Dennis Moore’s father, passed away in Andover, KS, early Sunday morning, September 17, 2006. Warner Moore was a respected and accomplished lawyer who instilled in Dennis his commitment to public service. Warner was elected and served as Sedgwick County attorney three times from 1953-1959. He served as Democratic County Chairman in Sedgwick County from 1966-1971 and 1978-82. Tough, but kind-hearted, Warner provided countless hours of pro bono work and gave generously to numerous candidates and causes.

He leaves behind his wife Maxine, two sons, Dennis and Randy, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
